Logitech & Zoom Rooms Smart Gallery

Logitech & Zoom Rooms Smart Gallery

Zoom Rooms Smart Gallery Experience

Rally Bar improved for large rooms, plus local network setup for all CollabOS devices and more

Rally Bar improved for large rooms, plus local network setup for all CollabOS devices and more

Your Logitech video collaboration devices just got more powerful thanks to the latest CollabOS and firmware updates, which bring helpful enhancements like expanded mic pod support, Local Network Access, and more to make hybrid meetings better for the whole team.

The updates benefit IT and employees alike, making hybrid meetings easier to deploy, manage, and join.

Keep reading to learn more about the updates, or if you’re ready to experience all the improvements and new features now, simply update your Logitech video collaboration devices using Sync.

Newly updated Rally Bar is ideal for large meeting rooms

Previously ideal for medium-sized rooms, Rally Bar has received a slew of improvements over the last few CollabOS releases that allow you to deploy to even larger spaces, including:

  • 3x digital zoom (on top of 5x optical zoom) so you can see people at greater distances
  • Speaker Boost provides an extra 7db of room-filling audio so everyone can hear remote participants.
  • And we’ve extended built-in microphone reach for up to 7 meters (23 feet) thanks to enhancements with AI Noise Suppression (now also available for Rally and Rally Plus through a firmware update available here) and dereverberation algorithms.

And now with CollabOS 1.6, we’re adding support for up to four Rally Mic Pods, extending the possible mic range up to 14 meters (48 feet). Mic Pods allow people farther from the camera to contribute to the conversation more easily and be heard by remote participants. Mic Pods also bring mute controls within reach of people in the meeting room. See our Mic Pod placement guide. These same features are also available for Rally Bar Mini, which now supports up to 3 Mic Pods, making the device well suited for small and medium-sized rooms.

Simplify device setup with Local Network Access

Now you can easily configure your meeting room devices right out of the box with Local Network Access (LNA). Previously only available as a beta feature for Rally Bar and Rally Bar Mini, LNA is now available for all CollabOS devices including RoomMate, Tap Scheduler, and Tap IP.

LNA provides access to device settings through a web browser using a computer connected to the same local network, greatly simplifying setup and deployment of video conferencing cameras and devices. You can upload network certificates, adjust camera and audio settings, change network settings, view system information, and more.

With more video-enabled rooms, employees can easily collaborate with anyone, anywhere. To get started with LNA, check out our quick setup guide.

Unlock advanced camera controls for more equitable meetings

Everyone must have a seat at the table in order for hybrid meetings to be equitable, so responsive and adaptable video is crucial in today’s meeting rooms. Here’s how CollabOS 1.6 helps:

  • External camera support: Zoom Rooms powered by Rally Bar and Rally Bar Mini, now allow you to connect and use either Rally Camera or MeetUp as an external camera. RoomMate now allows you to connect up to 2 external cameras. Camera switching and pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) controls allow in-room participants to highlight what’s important for remote participants.

These advanced camera features enhance collaboration and productivity in hybrid meetings by giving in-room attendees more flexibility to show what’s relevant to their remote peers.

  • RightSight 2 camera speed controls: RightSight 2 introduced automatic speaker-framing to make meetings more equitable. Now, IT admins can also adjust how quickly RightSight 2 pans and zooms between speakers, both in Speaker View and in Group View. This setting allows you to speed up or slow down camera transitions as different people begin or finish talking.

This means IT can customize each meeting space to fit your organization’s needs and meeting habits. Employees, on the other hand, can enjoy conversations that feel natural and productive.

Simplify Tap installation with auto-rotate

When you update Rally Bar, Rally Bar Mini, and RoomMate, your Logitech Tap screen can be set to automatically rotate to the correct orientation, whether you’re using a table or riser mount, or mounting on a wall. This ensures that the screen is always in the right orientation to be read by users.

Always getting better

We’re always enhancing and improving Logitech video collaboration devices and software with security features and performance updates so your organization’s employees can run more effective, equitable meetings — and you can reclaim your time and peace of mind.

Collaborate Across Different Platforms with Direct Guest Join

Over the last couple of years, remote workers have grown accustomed to being able to easily join any video meeting service at any time. Now, as people return to the office, they expect that same user-friendly experience in the conference room.

That’s why interoperability is essential in today’s distributed, cloud-based work environment. It needs to be effortless for people to communicate and collaborate across different operating systems, platforms, and devices.

We are excited to announce Direct Guest Join, a new feature that makes it simpler than ever to do just that. Direct Guest Join lets you easily join Microsoft Teams meetings from Zoom Rooms Appliances, and Zoom meetings from Teams Rooms on Android.

See how it works with Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android:

and Zoom Rooms Appliances:

By connecting Zoom and Microsoft, Direct Guest Join brings a new level of flexibility, ease, and scalability to enterprise video collaboration. With this feature, hybrid teams can expand their boundaries and break down barriers to communication and collaboration.

How it Works

  • Enable third-party meetings in your platform’s settings
  • Invite a Teams room or Zoom room to your meeting
  • In one touch, the Teams service will join a Zoom call, and vice versa

For more information on the feature, refer to technical articles from Microsoft and Zoom.

Wireless BYOD (bring your own device) is the new standard for virtual meetings

Wireless BYOD (bring your own device) is the new standard for virtual meetings

This is a guest blog from our alliance partner, Barco.

Some employees have returned to the office, others are staying home, and many have adopted a hybrid model. Video meetings are the central piece to achieving collaboration and connectivity among hybrid teams, but is your organization equipped to support easy, employee-powered meetings that serve both onsite and offsite users?

One secret: enable your team with wireless BYOD (bring your own device) spaces that are easy and quick to deploy. While 77% of employees agree that meeting rooms should be outfitted with video conferencing technology, IT managers are faced with the challenge of equipping spaces with technology that is easy to launch for all team members, regardless of technology proficiency. If the solution doesn’t foster employee confidence, it will go unused.

What a professional BYOD meeting space should look like in the hybrid age

Whether employees are working remotely or from the office, the virtual meeting experience should be intuitive. Usability is key. Onsite teams should be encouraged to bring their own devices, like laptops and tablets, for a plug-and-play experience that is beautifully accompanied by premium audio and video. A professional collaboration space should showcase all attendees equally which is why the Logitech MeetUp camera, with its 120° field of view, adjusts to capture every person in the room.

Hosting a hybrid meeting, with your own device, should be a single click away

When outfitting a meeting space for virtual collaboration, the goal should be to provide users with an experience that comes with little-to-no learning curve. When teams have the ability to use their own devices, and unified communication (UC) platform of choice, they can confidently deploy meetings without having to worry about room licensing, calibrations, or technology limitations. Barco’s ClickShare Conference and Logitech MeetUp all-in-one conferencecam make meetings easy to set up and host. Plus, users can share their views wirelessly both remotely and in the meeting room.

BYOD meeting spaces aren’t optimal; they’re critical

Some organizations standardize on a single cloud platform, but others allow their teams to use the UC&C solution they prefer. Barco research shows that on average people use up to six different UC platforms. For organizations that support a variety of platforms, BYOD-friendly rooms are a necessity. Empowering all employees to easily and confidently launch a video call from their laptop will ensure that the solution you’ve invested in actually gets used.

ClickShare Conference gives users the power to simply walk in and wirelessly connect to Logitech MeetUp with a single click. Power a video conference from the user’s own device, using a preferred conferencing solution, all while benefiting from the AV setup in the room. As an added bonus, ClickShare gives the user the ability to control the meeting content with a single touch.

According to ClickShare research, 81% of all collaboration results in a mixture of face-to-face and hybrid meetings. The novelty of video calls has faded, and knowledge workers are craving more interaction, engagement and collaboration. Humans crave social interaction, which is why face-to-face meetings, whether in person or virtually, will continue to be a cornerstone of professional collaboration.

Today’s video collaboration expectations have made it critical that you identify solutions that make it easy for you to manage devices across your enterprise while also giving users fast, simple, intuitive digital experiences. Whether you’re using Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, RingCentral or another platform, Logitech and Barco give you the confidence you need to host that important conference call, every single time.
